Ballet Forum Information Sheet

Introduction to Ballet Forum

SADM's EXCITING CLASS, “Intro to Ballet Forum,” for students 9-11 years of age, offers your students knowledge of what to expect when they become 12 and can participate in The Ballet Forum. In preparing students, we will review ballet steps, learn helpful ways to apply and execute technique, work on their turns and jumps, and learn the ballet body positions and vocabulary.

We look forward to seeing you there.

To attend the Introduction to Ballet Forum, you must have had 2 years of ballet training and be between the ages of 9 and 11.

Students of the Ballet Forum will have Assigned Ballrooms.

The Ballet Forum is a 2-day ballet intensive workshop providing students ages 12-21 with a minimum of 2 years of ballet training. Your student will be able to study with a professional classical ballet faculty. Along with technique classes each day, two special performance pieces will be choreographed and taught by the distinguished ballet forum faculty in a ballet company atmosphere. The pieces will be performed at the annual SADM Banquet on Saturday evening.

Participants are divided into two Forums based on age and advancement to ensure individual attention. The purpose of the placement class is to allow the Choreographers to observe the students before the choreography classes.

Attendance at the placement class and a rehearsal on Saturday at 4 pm is mandatory.

Final placement is reserved at the discretion of our Professional Ballet Faculty

**Requirements for Pointe Class**
